Die Daten werden in der sehr mächtigen OLAP Datenbank TM1 von IBM Planning Analytics gehalten, verwaltet und den verschiedenen Front-ends zur Verfügung gestellt.
Mit Planning Analytics for Excel (PAX) kann der Anwender wie gewohnt in Excel arbeiten und alle Funktionalitäten nutzen. Die Daten kommen und gehen aber ins TM1
Mit Planning Analytics Workspace (PAW) wird eine sehr mächtige Weboberfläche zur Verfügung gestellt. Dort können Excel Formulare (Websheets) und auch direkte Sichten auf die Datenwürfel (Views) veröffentlicht werden. Über ausgeklügelte Datenverteilfunktionen kann sehr effizient geplant werden
